Karl Schwitzke

CV: Born in 1955, Karl Schwitzke went abroad to acquire international experience straight after finishing his studies in Kaiserslautern and obtaining a degree in design and interior design. Whilst working for Associated Space Design in Atlanta, USA, he realised projects for the State Department, Black & Decker and the Prudential Life Insurance Company. From 1983 to 1984, he was responsible for managing the interior design division at Hentrich, Petschnigg und Partner. The years Karl Schwitzke spent at Esprit, where he had a decisive influence on the image appearance of the fashion and lifestyle brand as departmental head, proved to be the defining period in terms of his views on marketing and retail. In 1989, Karl Schwitzke founded the design company Schwitzke & Partner GmbH – a success story which he has since strategically built up, renewed and expanded with the clear goal of developing successful retail concepts for international brands. The numerous awards which he has received bear witness to this, as well as the countless publications that have been written about his projects. Karl Schwitzke lives on the outskirts of Düsseldorf with his three sons.
