Golds Gym Berlin Spandau Innenraum Schwitzke Project

Schwitzke x Gold’s Gym: Train, but sustainably!

Schwitzke Project implements first climate-neutral fitness studio concept in Berlin Spandau

A studio concept that combines fitness and environmental awareness: With Gold’s Gym Campus Europe in Berlin Spandau, Schwitzke Project has created a synergy that is unique worldwide. As the responsible general contractor, the expert for complex existing projects oversaw the interior construction of the studio area within the 5,200 m² sports facility. The result is a studio concept that sets new sustainability standards.

In the middle of the lockdown, the team from Schwitzke Project has realised Gold’s Gym on Paulsternstraße, a fitness studio that scores points in terms of sustainability in several ways: In the endurance area, ten-metre-high trees filter pollutants from the air, the training floors are made of recycled car tyres or cork, and wall tiles are made of old computer monitors. In terms of energy, too, all signs point to environmental protection: the block-type thermal power station runs on biogas, solar energy is harnessed by a solar flower. Together with the TU Berlin, the RSG Group also developed 150 “boost bikes” on which athletes can generate their own electricity. In addition to its clear sustainability orientation, the traditional studio offers its usual high standards of equipment, professional support as well as outdoor and performance areas.
