The New Center of Monheim on Film

In the upcoming months, the city center of Monheim is going to be extensively remodeled. A marketing film developed by Schwitzke ID now shows how the reconstruction will pass off and what the residents of the little Rhine City can look forward to.

In the future, the Rathauscenter area will turn into a modern, open district that ideally combines shopping, leisure time, living and working. Tearing down the current low-rise building and adding extension buildings will create a seven meter wide passageway with a free view from the bus station to Heinestraße. Prospective stores will rather turn outwardly than inwardly, with big shop windows and awnings that create a vivid, warm atmosphere. This new dynamic is supposed to attract selected retailers and restaurant concepts you would not directly expect in a city like Monheim.

“In the end, we do the reconstruction to create a future-proof city that is lovable and worth living for the inhabitants.”

– Isabel Port, Managing Director Monheimer Einkaufszentren

With this first common project, we are pleased to be part of such an exciting urban development as well as to partner up with such a strong local player: To gain as much creative leeway as possible, the municipality repurchased the commercial properties around the Eierplatz. The goal: to create an inner city exactly for the city’s inhabitants. Therefore, the film explains the reasons for and the people behind the construction project as well as the benefits for the residents.

“We want to inspire people and give some first impression of the architecture as well as the new feeling the city will convey”, says Isabel Port, Managing Director of Monheimer Einkaufszentren. “Because in the end, we do the reconstruction to create a future-proof city that is lovable and worth living for the inhabitants.”
