Working quickly and effectively, Schwitzke Project realized the entire store concept, from the preliminary planning to the management and supervision of the building professionals on-site. A key alteration: the staircase. Classic elegance was transformed into modern chic. New openings were cut into the ceilings, while others were closed.
A highly flexible approach allowed Schwitzke Project to respond to changing circumstances on-site. During demolition work, we came across unanticipated original structural elements. Working rapidly, a new solution for the ceiling construction had to be found as soon as possible.
While one team scrambled to alter the plans, another team was already focusing on the fine details of the interior: “magic mirrors” were custom-made for digital fitting room experiences, and iPads, RFID readers, and multimedia screens were ordered and later integrated into furniture and walls according to plan. Several kilometers of data and power lines were laid as part of the building’s digital transformation.
Structural engineers, drywall workers, electricians, floor layers, and many more: Schwitzke Project carefully choreographed diverse teams of building professionals that often worked in parallel. The construction logistics on London’s centrally located Regent Street proceeded according to plan.
An enduring achievement: a successful opening and LEED gold certification.
