Hotel Kepler - Turkey's first capsule hotel

Düsseldorf, August 2025

Kepler expand Istanbul Airport with an innovative hospitality format: Turkey’s first capsule hotel concept. The project reinterprets the Japanese capsule hotel tradition and translates it into a contemporary design concept for modern, international travelers.

The aim was to combine maximum space efficiency with a high level of comfort and a pleasant atmosphere. The architecture makes optimal use of the available space while simultaneously creating retreats that deliberately stand out from the hectic airport environment. The color palette of pastel blue and warm salmon tones fosters a calm, relaxing atmosphere and gives the concept a distinctive visual identity.

The sleeping capsules are designed as compact, high-quality private units. Every centimeter is functionally thought out and precisely executed in terms of design to offer travelers a comfortable place to rest between flights. The choice of materials, lighting, and proportions contribute significantly to the perception of unexpected luxury in a minimal space. The concept is complemented by communal lounges, which lend the hotel a social dimension. The open-plan areas offer space for relaxation, work, or a brief stay, promoting a balanced approach between solitude and interaction.

The interior design follows a clear aesthetic: gentle color transitions, minimalist forms, and precise spatial planning create an atmosphere of modern tranquility. This duality of innovation and relaxation transforms the typical airport stay into a high-quality travel experience.

Kepler demonstrates how strategic interior design and innovative spatial concepts can set new standards in the field of airport hospitality – and that luxury is not determined by size, but by thoughtful design and attention to detail.
