Schwitzke is realizing the new Manufactum store in Graz
Düsseldorf, March 2026
Following the success of its Vienna branch, Manufactum is opening its second store in Austria. On approximately 520 square meters on the ground floor of the historic Art Nouveau building owned by Kastner & Öhler at Murgasse 10, the store presents a wide range of products, from kitchenware and groceries to garden supplies, personal care and clothing, as well as office and home accessories.
Historische Architektur trifft modernes Retail-Design
The historic vaulted structures and the light-filled inner courtyard, now covered by a glass roof, are reminders of its former use as a Poor Clare convent from 1700 onwards. The characteristic facade from the early 20th century and the 1993 renovation define the architectural appearance of the corner building. Vaulted walkways guide visitors through the various departments, creating a unique shopping experience.
Design features in the new store
In the new Manufactum store, modular display units made of light oak, combined with dark steel and green linoleum, define the space and create a clear, structured presentation. A track lighting system suspended in the 17-meter-high atrium ensures optimal illumination of the central display units. The coordinated materials and colors create a calm, elegant atmosphere in which the curated selection of high-quality products is showcased to its best advantage.
With the new store in Graz, our team once again demonstrates how historical architecture and modern retail design can successfully harmonize.
